What is Botox®/Dysport®/Xeomin®?

Botox®/Dysport®/Xeomin® is a prescription medicine improving the appearance of wrinkles in the face caused by muscle contractions. The most common treatment areas for Botox®/Dysport®/Xeomin® are across the forehead, corners of the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the brow(Glabella).

Botox®/Dysport®/Xeomin® has no effect on static wrinkles. These are wrinkles that are there all the time and are caused by sun exposure, dry climates, and general aging of the skin.  Static wrinkles can be addressed with dermal fillers.

Masseter Botox®/Dysport®/Xeomin® injections offer a non-surgical solution for patients who are interested in jaw slimming or helping with teeth grinding. Advanced Botox®/Dysport®/Xeomin®

• Non-Surgical Eyebrows Lift: Anti-wrinkle injections are effective at relaxing certain muscles around the eyes to help create an overall lift in the eyebrows with Botox®/Dysport®/Xeomin®. 

• Platysmal Bands: Consist in the application of very small amounts of concentrated Botox in the vertical neck band (platysma band) to relax the platysma muscle, and therefore improve the severity of the platysma band with minimal downtime. This procedure can be done in the office in a walk-in setting. Longevity of the results requires serial treatments that are associated with the effect of the Botox treatment.

• Hyperhidrosis: Excessive Sweating: Botulinum toxin type A (Botox) injections have been found to be effective for Hyperhidrosis of the armpits. Botulinum toxin stops the sympathetic nerves (which normally control sweating) from stimulating the sweat glands. The effect can last between 4 to 12 months. Side effects are generally minimal but may include pain at the injection sites and compensatory sweating in other areas.

Preventive Botox®/Dysport®/Xeomin®

Using Preventative Botox®/Dysport®/Xeomin® involves preventing the formation of lines and wrinkles, as opposed to correcting the lines and wrinkles that are already established.

There are two types of wrinkles or lines: dynamic lines and static lines. Dynamic lines occur when you move your face, such as when you raise your eyebrows causing lines to form across your forehead. Static lines, or wrinkles, are those that are present at rest. Through time, as the facial muscles contract and relax to create expressions, the resulting dynamic lines become etched into the skin. Botox®/Dysport®/Xeomin® can be used to prevent this conversion of dynamic lines to static lines by relaxing the muscles that create specific lines.

Botox®/Dysport®/Xeomin® Procedure

Dr. Hong performs Botox® treatments in the Newton Med Spa. Dr. Hong will make injections into the selected facial muscles using a very fine needle which ensures the best outcome for each treatment. Most clients describe the process as a painless "pin-prick" and do not require local anesthesia.

Botox®/Dysport®/Xeomin® Results

You will begin to see improvements gradually over the next few days. By day 7, you will see a noticeable difference, and after 2 weeks, your lines should be significantly diminished. Treatments usually last for about 3 to 4 months, and many of Dr. Hong's clients maintain their enhanced, youthful look with regular treatments.

Just wanted to leave a little note for Dr. Hong. I am so happy with the way my Botox turned out. My insecurity about my eyebrows is gone now! They look great and I just feel very good. My wedding is less than a month and I am so excited I won’t have to worry about pictures.
